Climbing shoes, matched to your feet.
Most climbers buy shoes based on guesswork: brand reputation, a friend's recommendation, what the shop has in stock. ToeBox replaces guesswork with measurements. You record seven measurements about your feet, and the tool returns a ranked list of climbing shoes matched to your foot shape, with plain-English notes on why each one fits.
What it does
- Takes seven measurements: foot length, width, and heel width (each side), plus toe shape.
- Compares those against a tagged database of climbing shoes: toe box width, toe shape, heel cup, volume, flex point.
- Returns a ranked list with a match label (Good match / Worth trying / Limited match) and suggested sizes.
- Links out to the retailers stocking each shoe.
Where it's at
ToeBox is in the validation phase. Through May 2026, the scoring engine is being tested with real climbers: measuring their feet, running them through the tool, and checking whether the recommendations are accurate. The web version is being built alongside that work for launch later in 2026.
No subscription. No paywall on recommendations. Revenue comes from affiliate links to retailers when you buy through the tool.
